Photography
I just love nature, and what better excuse to take a camera for a walk, and to capture and share the beauty and diversity around us.
I never plan my photography outings, and do not hang around waiting for perfect light, or hide in the foliage waiting for a bird to appear. I don’t have the patience for that. I normally have two cameras with me, one with a long lens for birds and long-lens macro, and the other set up for landscape or close-up macro, so my options are varied. If something attracts my eye, I look again for a shot, so my photography is spontaneous and opportunistic.
I’m quite a purist in that I do not ‘Photoshop’ my images. I mostly use Capture One to do some basic RAW editing and use Affinity Pro for panoramic stitching and very rarely focus -stacking.
Eqipment
I started with the Canon EOS 650 in 1988 because of it’s fast autofocusing for action shots. My photography virtually died because of the cost of developing and printing photo’s. My passion was revived when in 2014 I bought a Canon 700D with 18-55 & 70-300 kit lenses. This progressed, and now I shoot with my trusty old EOS 7D MkII with a Tamron 150-600 G2, and an EOS-R with one of a variety of EF & RF lenses.
